First Time Setup

Setting up your first website can be a daunting task. Even if you have done it before there are many different platforms operate, which all work differently. With my Setup service I will help you get everything off the ground and provide a demonstration so you can manage your own site.

 Currently, I build site on the following platforms: Wix, Weebly + WordPress.

These are my personal recommendations for each one:

WIX – Simple sites

Wix is best suited for smaller, simpler sites but has the benefit of being quick to set up and easy to use.


Pros:
  • – Quick to set up
  • – Easy to use
  • – Comes with lots of free built-in features

Cons:
  • – No Tablet view
  • – Hard to customize everything
  • – Hard to expand / move to new platforms

WEEBLY – Intermediate sites

Weebly is similar to Wix but allows custom code to written to enable more complex designs.


Pros:
  • – Supports Desktop, Tablet and Mobile views
  • – Custom code can be used to enable more customization
  • – Supports larger sites and has more options when moving platform

Cons:
  • – Drag + Drop interface is a little clunky
  • – Starts out with fewer built-in features
  • – Steeper learning curve

WORDPRESS – Complex sites

WordPress has the most customization and is one the most popular platforms. It can do everything other platforms do and more.


Pros:
  • – Fully customizable / few restrictions on custom code
  • – Extensive plugin library
  • – Easy to backup and move to a new platform

Cons:
  • – Requires paying for a domain name (website address) and server (space for site to live on)
  • – Requires learning how to use properly
  • – Requires more site management

Requirements

  • You will need to provide site content
  • Only limited design options are available (more can get agreed upon if needed)
  • 3x page limit (more can get agreed upon if needed)
